The Ballinasloe Town AFC launched an appeal for support for their forthcoming monster development draw which will take pace on the 14th of Dec.

The Club is appealing to local businesses , parents of the youth players, club members, friends and supporters of the club - indeed anyone with an interest in sport to purchase a ticket in the draw which has a €200,000 prize fund.

First prize in the Draw is a magical first choice of a 2008 luxury car or an '08 Motorhome or an '08 Leisure /  fishing boat to the value of €50,000 or €40,000 cash.

There are in all 500 prizes to be won and tickets are costing a reasonable €100 each.

The Club have just completed the €1.5 million facilities development which consists of a clubhouse dressing rooms, fully enclosed grounds, floodlit grass playing pitch, 2 floodlit astro turf pitches, store building and spectator stand. These developments thanks to the management of the Officers and members of the club are debt free.

Proceeds from the new Monster Draw are earmarked for the next phase of development which includes the development of a new full size youth playing pitch ( currently underway) , the installation of a new astro - turf pitch carpets and the construction of a new seated spectator stand which will incorporate youth dressing rooms and an indoor training area/ gymnasium .

Club Chairman Johnny Walsh stated this week that a development of this size would only be realised if the club get the support of the people of Ballinasloe and it's hinterland.

"We have never before requested support for such a draw but given the magnitude of this development, it is absolutely essential that we ask on this occasion - if this exciting development is to become a reality. Critically it will greatly enhance the sporting facilities available to the youth of our area and that he was hopeful that the wider community would support the draw.
