BALLINASLOE GAA Club are hoping for big local support this weekend as their major fundraising effort for 2007 - a Monster Auction - takes place this Sunday November 11 in the Emerald Ballroom. The event (beginning at 1pm) could prove a happy hunting ground for early Christmas shoppers, as this week Club members make the last few calls to houses in the locality, in a final effort to track down good quality items to go under the hammer.

Among the hundreds of items up for auction on Sunday are some interesting lots including a trip for two to a Manchester United game, signed snooker cues and county jerseys, 2008 rugby international and All Ireland tickets, as well as holiday packages to France and Portugal. There will also be everyday items like, toys, books, bikes, furniture, power tools, building supplies (even a Jacuzzi), as well as a number of very valuable vouchers kindly donated by local businesses.

Finally organisers advise that the Emerald Ballroom will be open from 7pm to 9pm on Friday night November 9, and on Saturday morning November 10, from 10am to 12pm, to enable people to leave in items. Ballinasloe GAA would like to encourage as many people as possible to come along to Sunday's event and also advise that collection of goods can be arranged by contacting Noel on (087-6786062).
