This Feast of Epiphany celebrates the Light being manifested to all who would respond. The Light also divides our world and this division will only be resolved when Christ comes in final glory to establish once and for all and fully God’s reign. This feast invites each of us to be among the seekers of the Light who do Christ homage. Our joy is found in the real surprise of the gospel message: we are “members of the same body” (2nd reading) who are now the light that shines in the darkness. Our own shining forth hastens God’s reign. With such grace, no wonder all we can do is open our gifts and give homage to the Light of the world.
