THE FRANCISCAN BROTHERS, MOUNTBELLEW.
The Franciscan Brothers were founded in Galway in the early 1800’s to work with the rural poor of the West of Ireland. They were involved in agricultural development, secular and religious education and during the Great Famine in food procurement and distribution. They have a mission in Kenya where they live and work with the very poor. They are involved in schools, an agricultural college, a polytechnic school, food and seed distribution etc”.

“In the vast sea of this world, we can launch our nets without fear, confident in the aid of Jesus. To Go and Tell is a duty and a joy”.
“May prayer be intensified even more in the Christian faithful, as it is the essential spiritual means for spreading among all peoples the light of Christ”.
(Pope Bendict XV1).
