BALLINASLOE GAA Club would like to thank the local business Community who have kindly sponsored the Under 16 hurling team as they approach this weekends semi final encounter, in the Under 16 D hurling Championship.Under Manager Ger Connolly the team have performed brilliantly in reaching the semi final stages, winning all their four group games against Rahoon/Newcastle, Kinvara, Ahascragh/Fohenagh and Skehana. In the run up to the game the Club have purchased Polo shirts and kit bags which were presented to the panel of players by Galway hurler Damien Joyce, on Monday August 28 in the Duggan Park. The presentation followed a coaching session given by Damien, which was of great benefit to all the young players, as they put the final touches to their game plan for this weekend’s vital semi final clash. The Club and Team Management are of course indebted to the many local sponsors who contributed, including the Wash Basket, Stronges Photography, Michael Warde, Barrett’s, John Burke, Aughrim, Clarke’s, Declan Egan, John Hurley EU Kitchens, Western Post Form, Burkes Cleaners, Niall Hogan and Salmon’s. The semi final will take place this Saturday September 9 in Mullagh at 11.30am, and plenty of local support for the youngsters would be greatly appreciated. The panel of players who have done so well in the competition so far this year are: Alan Burke, Robert Burke, Ralph Carty, Cormac Casey, Patrick Casey, Stephen Cogavin, David Connolly, Gary Cox, Barry Croffey, John Hayes, Conor Headd, Alan Hogan, Gavin Hynes, Craig Keighery, Brian Minton, Cathal Moloney, Ian Renehan, James Shaughnessy and Cian Ward. |
