aidan_mcgrath_president.jpgBallinasloe has a population of about six and a half thousand people and a natural hinterland with a population in the region of twenty thousand. This bustling market town has under gone tremendous development in the past few years.

Shearwater Plaza which contains a Hotel and Marina, Retail Units and Apartments is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by August 2007. Moycarn Lodge and Marina has opened recently and provides accommodation and fine dining over looking the River Suck. The soon to be completed Dunlo Centre will provide further Retail Units, Restaurant premises, Office Accommodation and Apartments in the heart of the town. A number of other significant developments containing a mixture of retail and residential units are at the planning stage and are expected to start within the next 12 months. The significant amount of new retail space soon to become available will ensure that Ballinasloe remains a competitive commercial hub in the Midlands and will also provide a significant source of new employment.

The new N6 motorway which is now under construction will bring Ballinasloe to within easy commuting distance of Galway city and will bring Athlone to a within 15 minutes drive.

The new Railway and Bus schedules provide further regular and easy access to Galway city, Athlone and Dublin.

The thriving Business and Technology Park situated in Creagh contains a number of international firms which provide jobs in the manufacturing and R & D sector. The nearby Enterprise centre is home to a number of mature businesses and also offers incubation units for start up operations.

Ballinasloe with its foreign and indigenous manufacturing base together with significant employment from the public sector and a vibrant mix of retail outlets, bars, restaurants, hotels and professional practices combined with its ideal geographical location is well positioned to meet the commercial challenges of the 21st Century.
