S.F.A.I. Menton Cup
Ballinasloe under 11’s traveled to Moylough last Saturday to start their contest for the “Menton Cup”. Both teams started this game at a very brisk pace, with the visitors settling down the better, with a well taken goal by Eoin McCormack 0-1. Then within a few minutes a penalty for the “Town” lads was taken by Eoin McCormack and doubled the difference between the teams 0-2. Moylough pushed hard to try and break down the Ballinasloe defense, when on a counter-attack Ronan Daly slotted another goal home 0-3. The Home side pushed on with a full-frontal attack and were awarded a penalty,this was saved by Balliasloe goal-stopper Jack Parsons. Then once again with-in a minute or two, Moylough were awarded another penalty with goal-stopper Jack Parsons pulling off another “heroic” save. Half time came and went and the visitors came out “all guns blazing” and a high looping shoot form Eoin McCormack gave us a score line of 0-4. Moylough tried as they could to get on the score sheet it was not to be, and Evan Blake put another in the Moylough net 0-5. then Ballinasloe Town scored another from a well constructed “corner” with Ian Fletcher putting the ball in the net 0-6. the game was finished off when Eoin McCormack slotted another one in Moylough Goal 0-7.

Ballinsloe Towns Manager Peter McCormck, said it was a goods days work, with much more to do and thanked both teams for a highly entertaining game of football.Final Score Moylough -0 Ballinasloe Town -7.

S.F.A.I. Cup under 13’s
Ballinasloe Town’s under 13’s went out in the start of their cup trail and went one up from a well taken goal from Colin Dolan 0-1, thee Camlin lads reply was to level-up the proceedings 1-1. Five minutes later on form Colin Dolan up the visitors noses in front 1-2. So it remained to the break, which saw both set of teams roaring on to the pitch. Egar Peterson for Ballinasloe made a nice neat score-line of 1-3 and the days work was finished off by Mark O’Connor 1-4 Manager Noal Lyons said he was delighted with team spirit that has developed with-in this young team. Players of note on the day were, Thomas Ryan and Cian Dpowd.
