The Galway Special Olympics Ireland Committee for fundraising activities is
looking for volunteers in selected towns around Galway County.
The Committee, chaired by Galway Bay FM's Jimmy Norman, is looking for
volunteers to help initiate fund-raising activities in their area.
Fundraising activities for the "Sponsor an Athlete" campaign is taking place
from January to April in 2007.
Special Olympics Ireland is an international non-profit organization
dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become
physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports
training and competition. Special Olympics Ireland offer children and adults
with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in
ete/Sports_Offered/> 30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports. The world
Games takes place in Shanghai, China, in October 2007.
The Special Olympics Ireland "Sponsor an Athlete" campaign will kick-off for
a three month fundraising drive from January to April, where Chief
Coordinator Olivia Collins, Those Two Girls PR urges all businesses, schools
and colleges to take part in some way to help make dreams come through.
Watch out for the '60 Minutes - Make it Count' campaign which urges all
employees to give up one hours work and pay to the Special Olympics.
