Ballinasloe Town''s second team played host to St John's this weekend; it was to prove to be a real "Hell for leather" affair. Both St John's and our home side giving their all, the tempo of the game was fast, and in the 25^th minute the home boys put their noses in front with a fine 30 meter drive from Brian Carey 1-0.

The rest of the first half the visitors tried as they could, to get on level pegging which brought out some fine defensive work from the Town Lads

The second half saw more of the same; alas it was the single goal that separated the two sides on the final whistle. Barry O'Connor remarked that it was a fine game of football, and a very good all round team performance. Noel Lyons was said to have a very good game.
