Clonfad travelled to Ballinasloe on a bad road at the best of times, but this did not dull their enthusiasm, a hard fought contest it proved to be. Then in the 29th minute Mosch Loughnane put the town lads in front 1-0. Then just before the break the visitors equalised 1-1.

The second half was a real good match, with both teams playing some fine football the deadlock was broken when Mark Duffy headed into the Clonfad net in the 25th minute of the second half. So it remained until the final whistle.Ballinasloe Town A.F.C. 2-1 Clonfad A.F.C.

Ballinasloe Under 11,s Div 1 made the long trip to Belivor Co Westmesth on Saturday last to play Raharney in a league fixture. On a dry and very cold day Ballinasloe came out all guns blazing and played some very fine football but unfortunatley a very easy goal was conceded in the first half.

The second half was a close battle with Raharney picking up the pace and went on to get another goal which finished the contest.? Ballinasloe were very disappointed having played all the football and having to make the long trip home with nothing.

Philip Gilsenan, Eoin Moran, Sean Deane, Craig Donnellan, Evan Blake, Kieran Braithwaite, Dylan Keane,Ger Dowd and captain Zac Biriah all played their part and also thanks to the travelling support Glen Burke, Wayne Braithewaite, Gerry Moran and Philip Gilsenan.
