Ballinasloe Musical Society have announced they are to produce "Honk" as their annual show early next year.

It is a musical based on the Hans Christian Anderson's classic tale, "The Ugly Duckling", HONK! is an enchanting comic musical packed with sparkling wit, brilliant design, a memorable score and dazzling choreography.

Producer Mary Mc Donagh is back again in the same role as last year, with the Singing in the Rain Show but the Society is delighted to welcome the return of John Roe back again as musical Director.

The show will be staged from 9th - 15th March 2008. As always we will be looking for new members to join our "flock" and people can contact Society Chairperson Gerry Sweeney at the Duck Inn for further details.

There are12 members heading down to Killarney for the Aims awards on 15th June, disappointedly Ballinasloe received nominations proper this year but Louise Colohan (from Ballinasloe) has been nominated for 'Best Female Singer' for her part as 'Dorothy' in St Brendans Choral & Dramatic society, Loughrea's production of the 'WIZ'.
