Ballinasloe Hurling Club received a huge boost at the AGM of the Juvenile Hurling Board held last week, when they were selected as Juvenile Hurling Club of the Year for County Galway. There was great delight for Club delegate Padraic Gavin, who incidentally founded the Suck Valley League back in 2005, as it was he had who had the honour of accepting the Club of the Year Trophy, on behalf of Ballinasloe GAA Club.

The great endorsement came in a year of more great work being done to develop underage hurling at the Club, who had Championship wins at both Under 12 and Under 14 level, and league final appearances again at Under 14 and Under 16 level.

Elsewhere in Ballinasloe Creagh National School had a great year, when they reached the Finals of the Schools Competition, and were unlucky to be beaten in extra time. Congratulations and thanks are due to all the coaches, managers, selectors, parents, and of course the many players, who gave so willingly of their time during what was a very busy and successful year.
