With a little help from the referee. Where was he from again ?
Ah yes, Portugal.
And where is Jose Mourinho from.......................................?  Wink

Milito was clearly offside for his goal and alves was denied an obvious penalty claim.

2 - 0 to Barca back home in the second leg. Enough to see them through.  Smiley

Despite all your moaning and groaning Hill' about Barca' being hard done Inter' were by far and away the better team; their strength in the tackle was in my view their trump card; they also ran themselves into the ground for the special one on the line!

I agree with Skinner, Inter worked very hard off the ball pressing high up the pitch the way Barcelona usually do. They were worthy winners. Should make for a cracking 2nd leg. Did the fact that Barca had to get a very long bus journey play some part? Mourinho got his tactics spot on as usual.  Messi wasn't his usual self, could well get a couple at Camp Nou. Great stadium and should have a cracking atmosphere.

Jose is home and hosed.
Literally !

Actually it was a very juvenile display by those responsible for turning on the sprinklers after the match in the Camp Nou.
I lost a degree of respect for Barcelona when that happened. And thats something I never thought I'd never say.

Everyone should be given an opportunity to celebrate their win after a match.

As for the game itself, Barca deserved their win on the night. Had their goal come earlier they would have added another, (maybe a few).
They should have capitalised on their extra man. Especially in the first half.
Inter defended brilliantly but did little else (apart from waste time). They never looked like they had any interest in winning the fixture.

I could give out about the referee again but I don't want to end up sounding like Sir Alex  Tongue

I agree Hill. Sour grapes springs to mind. Very dis-respectfull. Will make the El Clasico Barca v Real  derby very interesting indeed.
If as reported he signs for Real in the Summer.

The Champions League final is fixed for 22nd May, same day as the Rugby Heineken Cup final.  Cool What a day!

Can't wait. I love the Month of May for sport

Even though I'm a neutral in both of those games.

But of course there is Liverpool to look forward to in the Europa Cup Final  Smiley

And Connacht to win the Challenge Cup  Lips sealed

Then we're into the Championship and Galway for the double !

1 chicken, 2 chickens, 3 chickens, 4 chinkens, 5 chick.......................

Yep, I'm counting then already  Cheesy

You can count chickens Hill. But can't see too many trophies in them events, i'd say Liverpool might be your best bet.

Hear they have a striker crisis for tomorrow. I reckon they have had it all season.  Wink

Best of luck to the two teams tomorrow. An all English final!

Who'd buy a season ticket to watch Jose's team?   The Cules  are most partisan fans I've ever been among.

Whack, golfers go out to ,if not win,  at least they try to put up a good score.    I wouldn't watch Inter if  they  were playing in the garden.
