The five songs selected for Eurosong 2010 are:

Baby, Nothing's Wrong - Performed by Michael Graham
Music & Lyrics by Michael Graham, Scott Newman & Yann O'Brien

Does Heaven Need Much More? - Performed by Leanne Moore
Written by Tommy Moran & John Waters

Fashion Queen - Performed by Monika Ivkic
Written by Marc Paelinck & Mathias Strasser

It's For You - Performed by Niamh Kavanagh
Music: Niall Mooney, Marten Eriksson & Jonas Gladnikoff
Lyrics: Lina Eriksson

River of Silence - Performed by Lee Bradshaw
Music: R. Siegel Lyrics: J. O'Flynn / José Santana

During 'The Late Late Show Eurosong Special' the winner, who will represent Ireland at this year's 'Eurovision', will be decided by 50% regional jury vote and 50% public televote which replicates the recent change to the rules in the 'Eurovision Song Contest' itself.

This year Ireland will compete in the second 'Eurovision' semi-final, due to take place on 27 May, in a bid to secure a place in the grand final on 29 May.

France will win it.
They'll handle the microphone in such a way that no one
else will realise how bad they cheated.  Shocked

God, don't even joke about that.

The Eurovision, however, is a joke. The one ray of light was a few years ago when Lordi turned up and showed the whole thing up as the ridiculous affair it was. The Irish tried to join in the joke by sending over an even lower class of turkey than usual and failed dismally.

Bring back Dustin.

I'd be in favour of that. He is much better than those other turkeys.

Well, we had a winning song with Niamh Kavanagh before, so maybe if she got through it would bode well

Bloody hell, how did we let that happen ?

RTE couldn't afford to send poor Colm Murray
over to the Cheltenham races last year.

Where will they find the shillings to fly Larry Gogan out
to Istanbul, Zagreb, Tel Aviv or wherever its on this year ?

God forbid we win the damn thing.
We'll have every laderhosen  clog wearing garlic ridden boyband
over here next year asking for directions to ze crack pub ya.

I hope Wales win !

Hill - you never fail to bring a smile to the Forum - here
I was thinking as I read your reply that you would be
saying something like 'Eire Abu' - I should have known
to expect the unexpected!

No danger of the Eurovision coming to Ireland in 2011.  At least we weren't last.  Poor Niamh Kavanagh, who always struck me as a lovely woman.  Still, she has the life experience not to let it get her down
