Ballinasloe, with its foreign and indigenous manufacturing base, together with significant employment from the public sector and a vibrant mix of retail outlets, bars, restaurants, hotels and professional practices, combined with its ideal geographical location is well positioned to meet the commercial challenges of the 21st Century. 

The thriving Business and Technology Park situated in Creagh contains a number of international firms which provide jobs in the manufacturing and R&D sector. The nearby Enterprise centre is home to a number of mature businesses and also offers incubation units for start up operations.

The Shearwater Plaza which contains a Hotel and Retail Units opened for business in 2007. The Moycarn Lodge and Marina has opened recently and provides accommodation and fine dining overlooking the River Suck.  A number of other significant developments containing a mixture of retail and residential units are at the planning stage and are expected to start within the next 12 months. The new M6 motorway brings Ballinasloe to within easy commuting distance of Galway city and brings Athlone to a within 15 minutes drive.

The new Railway and Bus schedules provide further regular and easy access to Galway city, Athlone and Dublin.
