Sean Keeley. Galway Senior Football Team 1955 to 1963

Holder of one All Ireland Medal 1956
Two runner up All Ireland Medals 1959 and 1963.
One National League Medal 1956/1957.
Six Connacht Medals 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1963

CLUB CAREER
Commenced his football in 1962 when he captained St Grellans Ballinasloe under 16 team to win the John Hynes cup in the first ever Juvenile Football Championship played in Galway.

Captained Ballionasloe Minor team to win the County Final in 1954.

First played for St Grellans Ballinasloe senior team in the League of 1953 and his last game for the club was in 1971. During that period played played in a number of losing senior semi finals including three losing county finals 1955, 1956, 1959 all to Tuam.

COUNTY CAREER
Played for Galway Minors in the 1954 Connacht Championship.
For Galway Juniors in the 1955 Connacht Championship.
Commenced playing for Galway senior team against Wicklow in the national league 1955/1956. Played his last game for Galway at full back against Dublin in Croke Park in October of 1963 in the Grounds Final. Was right full back on Galways winning All Ireland team of 1956 against Cork and Galways winning team in the 1957 League final against Kerry. Was on two losing All Ireland Finals in 1959 to Kerry and 1963 to Dublin. Apart from winning six Connacht Finals was in two losing finals both to Roscommon in 1962 and 1963
